Week 5 of the Ask A Senior series with Martin
Here are some excerpts from this week’s series

Normally, what I did was to set aside time
for full-length practice exams under timed
conditions. For instance, I would take 2023
civil procedure past questions and answer it
with a timer to assess my speed. Thereafter,
I review my responses to help me refine my
exam strategy and manage my time better.
The assessment also provides the platform
for me to focus on my weak areas so that I
can allocate extra study sessions for those topics
Martin Waana-Ang Esq.

Additionally, I read the majority of
the locus classicus cases to
familiarise myself with how the
court interprets and applies
certain orders to practical
situations. There is the tendency
to rely on case briefs because of
the plenteous nature of the
cases. However, that can be a
disservice, and so, as much as
possible, read the essential cases
for each topic, which you cannot
do without, in full

I would advise that you should
not let the volume of the course
discourage you. Take your time
to understand the substance and
objective of every Order under
the rules. That way, even if you
do not remember the exact rules
and sub-rules, you may still
satisfactorily answer any
question you are presented with.
