Our Senior for the week is Paul Korsi Simpson. Paul was called to the Ghana Bar in October 2024 and was the recipient of the Best Student in Criminal Procedure and Best Student in Family Law course prizes. He is currently a pupil at Templars law firm.

Here are some excerpts from this week’s series

With under 60 days to the exam, my ideal revision timetable would divide Criminal Procedure into three structured components:
1. Drafting
2. Trial Process and Procedure
3. Other Key Areas
Personally, I focused on thoroughly understanding the course content rather than spending too much time on past questions. However, I do recognize that practicing past questions can significantly boost your confidence and improve your ability to tackle exam scenarios
You do not need to memorize the exact wording of every provision in Act 30. What matters most is knowing what the law says and being able to express it accurately in your own words. Paraphrasing is perfectly acceptable - as long as you don’t misstate or misrepresent the substance of the law. Clarity and accuracy are key
